- Step1: Cook the Oats
- In a medium saucepan, combine the rolled oats, milk or water, diced apple, cinnamon, nutmeg (if using), and salt. Stir to mix.
- Place the saucepan over medium heat and bring the mixture to a gentle simmer.
Step2: Simmer the Oatmeal
- Reduce the heat to low and let the oatmeal cook for 8–10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the oats are creamy and the apples are tender.
- Stir in the maple syrup during the last 2 minutes of cooking.

- Divide the oatmeal into two bowls.
- Top with your favorite toppings, such as chopped nuts, fresh apple slices, or a drizzle of maple syrup.
