Ingredients
  

  • 12 large sea scallops cleaned, shell optional
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 2 garlic cloves minced
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/3 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/3 cup shredded mozzarella or Gruyère
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Chopped parsley optional, for garnish
  • 12 clean scallop shells or small ramekins

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a small pan, melt butter and sauté garlic for 1 minute.
  3. Add cream and simmer for 2–3 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.
  4. Place scallops in shells or ramekins. Spoon a bit of cream sauce over each.
  5. Top with cheese and a sprinkle of breadcrumbs.
  6. Bake for 10–12 minutes, or until golden and bubbly.
  7. Broil for 1–2 minutes if needed for extra browning.
  8. Garnish with parsley and serve hot.
