Method
Cook the filling:
- Heat oil in a pan. Sauté onion and garlic until soft.
- Add ground beef and cook until browned.
- Stir in tomato paste and flour. Cook for 1 minute.
- Add beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, salt, and pepper.
- Simmer until thickened (10–15 minutes). Let it cool.
Prepare the pies:
- Preheat oven to 200°C (390°F).
- Line individual pie tins or a muffin tray with pastry.
- Fill with cooled beef mixture.
- Cover with pastry lids. Seal edges and cut a small slit on top.
Bake:
- Brush tops with beaten egg.
- Bake for 20–25 minutes or until golden brown.
Serve hot with mashed potatoes or a green salad.
