Preparing the ChickenWings
- Wash the chicken wings under cold water and dry them with paper towels, applying gentle pats.
- If not pre-cut, use a sharp knife to separate the wings into drumettes and flats.
- Season the wings with pepper, salt, and optional spices like garlic powder or paprika.
Cooking Methods
- Frying: Heat oil in a deep pan or fryer to 375°F (190°C). Fry wings in small batches for 8-10 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
- Baking: Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Put the wings on a wire rack over a baking sheet. Bake for 20-25 minutes, flipping halfway through.
- Air-frying: Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C). Arrange the wings in a single layer. Cook for 20 minutes. You have to shake the basket while the wings are cooking.
Making the Perfect Buffalo Sauce
- In a small saucepan, melt 1/4 cup of butter over low heat.
- Add 1/2 cup of hot sauce and a tablespoon of white vinegar. Stir well.
- Adjust the flavor with a pinch of garlic powder or honey if desired. Keep the sauce warm.
Coating and Serving the Wings
- Put the wings in a large mixing bowl after they are cooked.
- Pour the warm buffalo sauce over the wings. Toss until evenly coated.
- Serve immediately with celery sticks and your choice of ranch or blue cheese dressing.
