Ingredients

For the dough:
  • 2 ½ cups 300 g all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet 2 ¼ tsp active dry yeast
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • ¾ cup 180 ml warm water
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp salt
For the pizza toppings:
  • ½ cup pizza sauce homemade or store-bought
  • 1 ½ to 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup sliced mushrooms
  • ½ cup sliced black olives
  • ½ cup sliced bell peppers red and green
  • ¼ cup thinly sliced red onion
  • ½ cup cherry tomatoes halved
  • 1 tsp dried oregano or Italian seasoning
  • Olive oil for brushing

Method

  1. Make the dough: In a bowl, mix warm water and sugar. Sprinkle in the yeast. Let it sit for 5 minutes until foamy. Add flour, salt, and olive oil. Mix and knead for 8–10 minutes until smooth. Cover and let it rise in a warm spot for about 1 hour or until doubled.
  2. Prep toppings: While dough rises, wash and slice all vegetables. Grate the cheese if needed.
  3. Shape the dough: Punch down the risen dough. Divide it into two equal balls. Roll each out on a lightly floured surface to about 10–12 inches wide.
  4. Assemble the pizza:: Preheat oven to 475°F (245°C). Place dough on a baking sheet or pizza stone lined with parchment. Spread pizza sauce thinly. Sprinkle mozzarella. Add veggies evenly. Sprinkle oregano on top. Lightly brush the crust edges with olive oil.
  5. Bake: Bake each pizza for 12–15 minutes until the crust is golden and the cheese bubbles. Slice and serve hot!
