Beef and Lettuce Wraps Recipe

Ingredients
  

  • 500 g 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 1 head butter lettuce or romaine/iceberg, leaves separated
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce or tamari for gluten-free
  • 1 tbsp hoisin sauce
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tsp fresh ginger grated
  • 2 green onions chopped
  • 1 medium carrot julienned
  • ½ cucumber thinly sliced
  • Fresh cilantro leaves for garnish
  • Optional: chili flakes or sriracha for heat

Method
 

  1. Prepare Lettuce: Wash and dry lettuce leaves. Set aside.
  2. Cook Beef: Heat a pan over medium heat. Add ground beef and cook until browned. Drain any excess fat.
  3. Add Flavor: Stir in garlic and ginger. Cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
  4. Season: Add soy sauce, hoisin sauce, and sesame oil. Stir well to coat the beef. Cook for another 2–3 minutes.
  5. Assemble Wraps: Place beef mixture into lettuce leaves. Top with carrots, cucumber, and green onions.
  6. Garnish & Serve: Sprinkle cilantro on top and add chili flakes or sriracha if you like spice. Serve immediately.
