Method
- Heat the oil in a deep pan to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.
- In another bowl, mix egg, milk, melted butter, and vanilla.
- Combine wet and dry ingredients. Stir until a thick dough forms.
- Scoop small spoonfuls (1 tbsp) of dough and gently drop into hot oil.
- Fry 2–3 minutes, turning to brown evenly. Don’t overcrowd the pan.
- Drain on paper towels.
- While warm, roll in powdered sugar, cinnamon sugar, or dip in glaze.
