Mix the coating: In a separate bowl, combine flour, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne, salt, and pepper.
Coat the chicken: Lift the chicken from the buttermilk, shake off the extra liquid, and coat it well in the flour mixture.
Heat the oil: Fill a skillet with enough vegetable oil to cover the chicken halfway. Heat it to 350°F (175°C).
Fry the chicken: Add a few pieces at a time. Cook each side for about 10–12 minutes until golden and fully cooked.
